Support the work.
Central Texas Forensic Care’s purpose is to provide trauma-informed forensic medical care, medical-forensic examinations, sexual assault forensic examinations, victim advocacy, outreach, professional training, research, and coordinated supportive services to individuals affected by violence, abuse, and trauma, with particular attention to underserved, vulnerable, and marginalized populations.
The Texas Association Against Sexual Assault (TAASA) serves as fiscal sponsor for Central Texas Forensic Care (CTFC). TAASA’s mission is to be the unifying voice to eliminate sexual violence in Texas. This project and partnership align with and further TAASA's purpose of enhancing trauma-informed, survivor-centered support for sexual assault survivors across Texas.
In its role as fiscal sponsor for CTFC, TAASA will accept all donations on behalf of CTFC and distribute the funds to CTFC. TAASA will provide a donation confirmation letter when appropriate. Please see below for donation options.
Why our work is important
Survivors in Travis County deserve access to compassionate, expert forensic care — and that care is only possible because of people like you. We are a new organization doing urgent, necessary work, and community support is what makes it possible. Whether you can give a little or a lot, we are grateful. When specialized forensic care isn't available, survivors are left to navigate hospital emergency rooms — environments that are often overwhelming, understaffed, and not designed for this kind of care.
In an emergency room, survivors may wait hours, receive care from providers without specialized training, or find themselves pressured into decisions they aren't ready to make. They may leave without ever speaking to an advocate, without access to preventative medications, and without knowing what options were available to them. We are creating this space because survivors in Austin deserve better than that.
Your gift makes specialized care possible for survivors in Travis County. Here's what your support provides:
$25 pays for a round trip rideshare to transport a survivor to receive care
$50 covers the cost of kits and medical supplies needed to collect and secure evidence
$100 helps us provide preventative medications for one survivor
$200 keeps snacks, blankets, clothing, and hygiene products stocked in our clinic for survivors each month
$1500 funds a complete forensic exam — giving a survivor access to expert care, evidence collection, and the power to seek justice on their own terms
